Nothing changes the atmosphere of a room asmuch as the countertop. When remodeled in stone, they add an almost automatic value to your property and, when in the bathroom, they’re usually associated with 5-star hotels.

Enhance your cabinets
If you are even remotely thinking of selling, know that potential buyers will look at the kitchen, but be mainly concerned with foundational items, like cabinets.
If need be, spruce them up, but it may not have to be an out-and-out replacement. Sometimes just the addition of new knobs or pulls can uplevel them.

It’s all about color
Since this is cosmetic, don't expect much, if any, return. You can go white with some pops of color, or dramatic with black and white.

You might need to do a little remodeling for your bath, especially if the layout is odd and the room isn’t functional.

Light and sparkle
Whether remodeling the kitchen or bath, create a full package consisting of recessed, pendant and task lighting, especially if there isn't much natural light.
